The Management of University of Lagos in conjunction with RT Briscoe has commissioned an automobile workshop at the Works & Physical Planning Unit of University of Lagos on Friday, November 27, 2015.
Speaking at the event, Professor Rahaman Bello FAEng;Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Management Services), Professor Duro Oni; applauded the kind gesture of the company for deeming it fit to initiate such a laudable project that would be beneficial to the entire University of Lagos and more importantly engineering students who would be trained in the area of automobile engineering.
While responding, Mr. Seyi Onajide MD/CEO RT Briscoe, poured eulogies on Unilag Management for allowing a proposal that has spanned over two years come to reality. He went ahead to appreciate the words of late Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Professor Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe, who emphasized on bridging the gap between the town and gown.
Finally, Mr. Onajide, pleaded with the institution to take automobile engineering very seriously because most companies prefer the services of expatriates rather than make use of Nigerian graduates. As such the company has promised to maximize this opportunity of partnering with UNILAG by providing state of the art facilities that are second to none.
Present at the important ceremony include: Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Taiwo Ipaye FNIM; University Bursar, Dr. Lateef Odekunle FCA; Director, Medical Centre, Dr. (Mrs) Ramota Apampa, Deputy Director (PP&C) Mr. Olaniyi Ayeye; Deputy Director (O&M) Engr. Olatunbosun Oloyede; Head, Auditorium Management, Mrs. Adunni Shodimu and other top officers of the University.
