PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT MOURNS PROFESSOR A.C. MUNDY-CASTLE

The Department of Psychology, University of Lagos has announced the transition of Professor Alistair Charles Mundy-Castle, the pioneering Head of Department of UNILAG from 1970-1982 who died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home in Manchester, United Kingdom.


Professor A.C. Mundy-Castle was described as a “Foremost Africanist Psychologist” in “A Festschrift in his honour”, edited by Professor Kayode Oguntuashe. During his lifetime he trained many of Nigerian’s eminent Psychologists including Professor Tunde Makanju, Professor Kayode Oguntuashe, Professor Agiobu-Kemmer (Current Head of Department), Professor Ameche Nweze, Professor Frank Eyetsemitan among others.

The entire University of Lagos commiserates with his family in Britain, Nigeria and in Diaspora.
